The Bulwark, even more so than the mainstream media, has repeatedly lied about the Palestinian people and those who support them.
- claimed that the founding documents of anti-genocide protestors on college campuses said they “want to kill Jews” (from the 43:30 mark).
- said that he “wouldn’t move the little knuckle on his little finger” to save the lives of Palestinians because some US residents said words (from the 1:02:41 mark).
- has told lie after lie after lie about anti-genocide protestors.
Otherwise, The Bulwark has had a policy of simply ignoring the atrocities of Israel since Oct 7 … until Trump came along, forced a ceasefire, threatened ethnic cleansing, allowed Israel to violate his ceasefire, and now continues the genocide.
But The Bulwark wasn’t upset about that, they became quite upset that Trump was deporting US visa and green card holders simply because of their speech against genocide.
But something else was happening. Something The Bulwark should have disclosed. Something that Bill Kristol should have disclosed.
Till he accidentally disclosed it.
Here’s what he said, speaking about Harvard University:
I was involved with some donors who stopped giving money after October 7th. They didn't like Harvard's response. I don't think anyone, you might have been wise, it might have been unwise. No one doubts that that's... within their rights to do. And I didn't like Harvard's response after October 7th. I was a little involved with some alumni organizations that tried to get organized and so forth to push the administration.
Oh, really, Bill? Tell me, what did you do? How did you “push the administration”?
Did you…
Push the Harvard Administration to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism, effectively banning criticism of Israel?
Push the Harvard Administration to “police anti-Zionist speech”?
Push the Harvard Administration to prevent a dozen anti-Israeli protestors from graduating at commencement?
Push the Harvard Law School to ban 60 students because of their Constitutionally protected speech?
Push the Harvard Administration to work with the cops to “monitor” pro-Palestine protestors, in violation of the 1st and 4th Amendments?
Let’s be clear about something: you didn’t use your free speech to achieve these goals, Mr Kristol. Oh no, you used the threat of withholding money to deny others their free speech rights. You didn’t win the argument in the “marketplace of ideas”, you bought the result you wanted in dark, back rooms, far from the light of free expression.
Is Kristol obligated to donate money to Harvard? Is it a grievous offense to have donated money before, and then decide to not donate again?
